A young engineer, not to much older than myself, brings an Amtrak San Joaquin passenger train southbound through Modesto, California on the afternoon of December 8th 2007.

Halfway into the video, you can hear a Union Pacific defect detector pickin up a train about 5 miles west of here on the Fresno Subdivision.

Bonus footage: Some funky soundin sinking submarine alarm thingy picked up by my scanner.....O_o?!?!?!

  • That "submarine" noise you mention is created by the train it's self, it's a warning to conductors that a door is open.
