Tyr is a band from the Faroe Islands in the far north Atlantic. They have a unique language related to Old Norse. Tyr play Faroese folk songs and sagas to a rock accompaniement. They also do original songs of their own composition. They are very popular in Europe. They have not yet toured the US and are known in the US mainly thru YouTube.

They have toured in the US. I am not sure of the exact number of times, but I know they have toured at least twice. I live in the US and I saw them about a year ago.
