The human body canmove in only so many ways. I see throws & locks that look similar to the another martial art but are indeed part of that art. For example my buddy takes Kempo & he's done throws to me that makes me think of the Aikido training I have. This doesn't mean it's Aikido it means that have a few similar moves in both styles

Shuai Chiao is much older than judo

@roningb Because he watches too many Bruce Lee movies, and wants to imitate him.

The Hoping could be more then tight tendons and more then keeping balance in some cases its done to prevent teligraphing moves or to distract your oponent.
As for others who are commenting about its effectiveness, I study Choy Lay Fut its a mixed Kung Fu with Chinese wrestling they call it a complete system and using these tecniques in a fight means most likely ending the fight 45 seconds or less.
Going to the ground in a fight is an invitation to get your face smashed by his budies.

Fila you know nothing of what I do you know nothing about me shuai chiao is the mother of judo and jujitsu which would mean the influence to sambo for throwing would come from shuai chiao wow fila sports I know you are Irish if you would like to settle in a gentleman manner I would be more than happy to use single stick, striking or wrestling to show you my spirit fila does not mean best it is just a organization besides I am member and coach to for sambo

Still does not explain it. But I like how he bounces around on one leg after the throw. "Throw'em down then dance around"...ha ha ha.

It's the same as all the wrestling styles. The painting is the same... only the technique of the brush is any different. Kenpo, Karate, Judo, Taiji... it's all the same... just a different brush stroke.
Why does the long haired guy dance around after every technique?

Chinese wrestling is not for thrashing around on the ground but the object is to throw the opponent, preferably in a way that causes injury. Traditionally, it is only one of many skills for the kungfu fighter, not a lone skill to be used by itself. In the sport side of the art, just throwing techniques are used alone. Bone, joint and neck breaks are de-emphasized.

Again, Pa Kua Chang will help you a lot both in your stability as well as in your throwing skills. "throwing without touching" is one of the Pa Kua skills.
