This part of the original game was hilarious. The party witnesses this horrible homicide/suicide, Rolf makes some blanket statement about needless destruction, and then... oh well, off to Oputa! Do de do de do...

This game was so profound for me when I was a child. Some of the stuff that happened was so ill!

Now THIS is how you do a cut scene. If this were in a recent MGS or FF game, it would have taken 20 minutes.

@toomanynotes1 I was thinking the same thing! While the cutscene was great their portrayal of emotion really killed the nonchalant charm of the original.

I played the Genesis version of this so much. My absolut favorite game ever. I feelt so bad during this scene. And when nei died, baaaaaw. I wish I could speak and read japanese and play the remake of PS2.

Its been 22 years since I played this but i think the guy was robbing people to get money to pay the ransom for his daughter, the scoobies rescued the daughter and the father ended up killing his own daughter because they wouldnt pay earlier, he realizes what he did and kills himself...
