You guys should just enjoy the music.

I wonder if the composer ever came to YT and check how popular his music is.

You see, you see? Kapustin plays Kapustin -- and the users below me are engaged in a polite conversation about Marc-André Hamelin?
Maybe they are right... If Hamelin didn't bring some of Kapustin's pieces to his listeners, I don't think Kapustin would be so popular here on YT without MAH.

@DualThunder Does the general public fail to feel his musicianship because of the choice of his repertoire (unknown, difficult-to-listen-to pieces, extreme technical tour-de-forces) or because of the perfection, which he shares with people like Kapustin? I do not know.

@DualThunder Well, Hamelin is another of my favourites, both for his absolute command of the instrument and for the generous choice of pieces not frequented by many and played well by even less. But many of my friends who are professional musicians say there is a certain "coolness" in his playing - in terms of his frequent "over-objective" playing. I personally disagree because I know that Hamelin is a very witty player and person. BUT - there are two questions.
I played some Kapustin to a friend and she said that he plays 'lifelessy'. Damn near ended our friendship.
