Be Bop Deluxe smokes it up from a time when Bands could actually play. They finished their shows with this Jam at the end of Blazing Apostles. Bill Nelson's solo is simply beautiful. Its As if he were firing blazing arrows at the sun. Watch how he adjusts his amp in the middle of a run without missing a beat! Special Kudos to Drummer Simon Fox for nearly setting his kit ablaze.

  • I remember getting my first guitar when I was about 11.

My dad handed me a chord book and then gave me a stack of old vinyl, at the top of which was Axe Victim.

"Mandatory Listening. Not Optional" he called it.

  • proper music

  • @5899ish Red Noise was a conscious departure from BBD's " guitar hero " style . You need to listen to it again , (maybe a few times ) it's some of Bill's cleverest riffs & the arrangements , timing & rhythm changes are superb !! I've always loved the great man's playing , no matter what he does , but Sound On Sound is still my favourite as is still one of the most unique albums I've ever heard

  • @sfphotoguy1 hey man, its definitely true that bands nowadays don't jam like this and i think its a shame they don't, but the bands (i think you meant interpol instead of monopol?) you mentioned are putting out some of the best new stuff. They tend to take after punk and new wave, which were genres never known for individual instrumental talent, but it still beats the hell of stuff like nickelback, linkin park, and the rest of corporately produced garbage music that the mainstream is spoon-fed

  • @sheltech12 yo dar

  • If you think "Red Noise" is "electronic meanderings", you haven't listened to it. At all.

  • Bill Nelson was one of Randy Rhoads main influences.

  • "a time when Bands could actually play" Indeed! Musically talentless bands like Monopol and Arcade Fire should watch this and take heed.

  • That was truely amazing...I haven't heard anything from BeBopDelux for many a year.

I remember seeing play live at Portsmouth Guildhall around 74-75.

  • One of the greatest guitarist ever. Everyone write to him tell him to stop his electronic meanderings (Red noise etc) and do what he does best, even if it is on his own lable as he does now.Check out Kid With Cowboy Tie on his Practically Wired CD. I saw this band many times in the early eighties. I sung his praises then he went a bit underground. I respect his privacy but at least get out that axe one more time and let loose. I remain an Axe Victim
