How to Make a Flaming Pumpkin, Jack O Lantern. Great for a Halloween party idea. As featured on http://www.EpidemicFun.com and Right This Minute TV across America.

This great step by step tutorial video shows a how to make a simple homemade flaming pumpking Jack o antern, and then a demonstration of using it.

Design and carve the pumpkin out, then put a toilet roll inside and saturate with Kerosene, then set on fire. Should burn for a couple of hours and looks great!

Tipping a bucket of water quickly into the top of the pumpkin put it out a treat for me, but the correct way to extinguish it would be to use either a foam, powder or a CO2 fire extinguisher, or throw a fire blanket over it. If you're not confident about extinguishing a fire, maybe this experiment isn't for you, but if you are going to try it make sure you do it in a safe and sensible place outside where nothing will catch fire. The flames will burn out with in a couple of hours. If you use less fuel it should burn out quicker.

I did try doing that, got little bits of flame coming out of mouth and eyes but not a lot, it smoked a lot and I think if you left it on it would either burn through the lid or end up choking itself out.

Do NOT user water to douse a kerosene fire. It will not put it out, it will only spread it.

The correct way to extinguish it would be to use either a foam, powder or CO2 fire extinguisher, or throw a fire blanket over it. If you're not confident about extinguishing a fire, maybe this experiment isn't for you, but if you make sure its done somewhere safe and sensible, the flames will die out after a couple of hours. You can always use less fuel to try it out 1st, but make sure you're in a safe area where you can stand well back and nothing else will burn.

If it was a big puddle of burning kerosene I totally agree, but as I say in the video its approx 1/3 litre which saturates into the toilet roll. Tipping a bucket of water quickly into the top of the pumpkin put it out a treat. The correct way to extinguish it would be to use either a foam, powder or CO2 fire extinguisher, or throw a fire blanket over it. If you're not confident about extinguishing a fire, maybe this experiment isn't for you, but the flames will die out after a couple of hours.

lol Dont complain to me mate, complain to the guy that invented halloween. Besides this is just a speedy way of cooking it ready for your dinner, so I don't know what you're going on about.

I did this one year for a party I threw. The best part is that if you replace the toilet tissue a couple of times when its burned out, the pumpkins become dry and crispy which makes it easy to clean up (I dislike cleaning up rotten, moldy, putrid pumpkins).

Well there's nothing you can do to stop people from using them as decorations and making jack-o-lanterns. So complaining won't do you any good lol.
