  • @UKToneKing when U jumper any old amps 2 channels, it gives U options, that's why I would choose the dr over the pr

  • @fIRsTRATmAN I like the bassman's chime, but I like the spank U get from a deluxe reverb, so I am getting one of them as well, silverface again due to thier value, well blackface are not worth the money for me in DR, the bassman has a much brighter chime sound than a dr, but tthe dr and super reverb have that spank kind of clean, think a super would be a bit big for what I want, may even get a sf pr, as they are just like a dr without the normal channel, normalchannel jumped is another tone tho

  • @UKToneKing whatever works for you is the important thing. If you enjoy the tone, great. All the best.

  • good luck with the amp search

  • @UKToneKing U can buy into what people say a lot man, on these forum's people are always saying this model is better than this one, half of the time it is pure B.S, I try my amp's with a guitar, if it sound's killer then I buy it, not bothered if it is blackface or silverface, because I have heard both sound crap in certain amps, no getting away from what I have now, sound's great, a local bands have asked to use it for recording as it was in my mates studio when they heard it, keeping it like

  • @fIRsTRATmAN blackface bassman's don't go for much more than the silverface, I could have had a blond for 900, which was pre CBS, I know enough about amps to not get ripped, I bought tha amp for that price due to the cab being killer, and costing best part of £600 notes, not even a year old, trust me I would not pay over £350 for a silverface bassman head, and I did not in this case, 600 was due to cab, but the heads are going for £400 all day in bass forum,

  • @fIRsTRATmAN funny your the only one to say that, one went for £450 in the bass forum last week, and it was only the head, the cab I got cost £500 alone, well £550, so say I got that for half price which would be £275, which mean's the head cost £325, now your friend payed £350 ? the going rate for the heads alone is £400, I don't feel ripped off, people pay £900 for a deluxe reverb silverface, which to me are not a better sounding amp,

  • @UKToneKing I prefer blackfaces dont like the later silverface stuff and i think you payed way too much for a silver face 100 watt bassman, my friend bought one for £350 and its mint. I also bought a bandmaster 1965 head awhile back on ebay for 450.00. Dude you got ripped off and taken for a ride, 600 for a silverface bassman thats way too much money for that.

  • @UKToneKing ive found a 50 watt 1967 bassman head, the chap's asking for £600 which i think is too dear. This is not the bassman that Jim Marshall designed his jtm 45 on. Im wondering whats the difference between this bassman and a bandmaster or tremolux head from the black face era?

That 100 must be loud as hell - you must have good neighbours...

  • @fIRsTRATmAN I had the chance of a blonde bassman as well, but they are not that much different from the silverface, infact the older ones are a bit harsh compared to the SF amp's, which some people like, I don't tho, not bothed how much an amp is worth, more into what it sound's like for me, some people buy with their eye's, and look at resale, I look for tone
