Epi-pens are meant to be used in emergencies. If a situation warranted its use, I find it impossible to watch someone's airways close when you could have easily administered a simple injection, and taken them to the ER... if someone has a severe allergic reaction im going to administer the epinephrine regardless of who the prescriber made the script for.

I have seen indivduals inject the epi-pen on the chest, where can this device be administered without doing more harm to the patient?

Thanks for the Video, However I dont think its a good idea to show people the needle. Seeing it may frighten someone and they wont want to use the pen.

the epinephrine thats in the pen would cause you heart rate to increase, its like adrenaline.

We just found out my mom is severely allergic to coconut. The other night her throat was closing in and she could barely breathe, we just got an epipen for her. I was looking for a video on how to use it, so this was a lot of help, thanks.

So what can happen if someones playin around and dont have a severe allergic reation and they stick themselves with it? Will it do harm or will nothing happen?
