I laugh at people who brag about running cs at 1000+ fps. Your fps is limited by the lowest common denominator of your gaming setup: your monitor. If you have a 60htz monitor its only to refresh 60 times per second, which means that ur not even seeing the other 9940 fps your pc is wasting resources to render. even if your monitor could display that many fps the human eye cant track any faster than 60 fps anyway. I play cs at 65 fps and rape noobs who think theyre cool running it at 1000.

@Ekoorbe Wrong, No one plays cs at 1000 fps, even if the gpu is powerfull enough to catch it up to 1000 you will be slow as fuck, clearly only a retard would do that, what i did here is not to show how i play at 1000fps its just the recorder of the hlae that is 1000, oh and about the 60hz monitor, you can just force the vertical sync to off and then you can see the 100fps :>. dont be a smartass when you dont know what your talking about nor you haven't tried it either.

@adamprocks761 because youtube only allows 30fps videos, meaning that they downgrade all videos that is higher to 30fps, so you cant see a diffirence between the diffirent fps's. The only way to see a diffirence would be in slowmotion.

@SeekaX all of what you said there was right, but the human eye is tricked into visualison an animation with as low as 8 frames per second, movies use 24 because that is as low as they can go while still appearing relatively smooth, however the eye can actually see far above 60fps, but like you said we dont use our eyes to benefit from the 100+ frames

@Ekoorbe Also the human eye can see in excess of 200fps if you ahve a monitor capable of showing that, e.g. CRT, those huge old things, acutally have one of the best refresh rates of any screeen. And on top of that, even you cant see them because you have a 60hz sceen those frames can help, they affect the game differently when you are getting hundreds of fps, and it helps the gameplay feel smoother with very quick movement, im not talking about seeing it, just the feel of it.

HL (and CS) using old, highly modified quake engine (check wiki be4 u argue), which had bug basing on higher jumping when higher FPS value. Its still working on Call of Duty games (after removing max fps cap), dunno how about CS.
