I just got my 1979 Guild D25 Mohogany top back from the luthier after a pretty lengthy neck reset. The cost for the reset was more than I paid for the guitar but I felt it was worth it.

  • i got a 1979 D25m in mint condition with case. I want to sell it, how much should i sell it for?

  • @gaoy4 I don't really. Its probably worth over 1000 but the price varies on these guitars. I do know that as time goes on the are becoming more sought after. You'll have to do some research to find a fair price, and sometimes it just depends on the buyer.

  • Do you really like this guitar? How much did you pay for it? I really love it's mellow tone that it produces. I found a 1981 that I may buy that's why i'm asking.

  • @Gio60250 I do like this Guitar very much. The body on this particular guitar is huge for a dreadnought becuase the back is arched and the neck is thick, I mean thick. It plays very well though and the sound is fairly even, the bass is'nt has big as I would like however. As for the body size I personally have become more partial to an OM. I don't have one yet but I'm saving up. Overall, its a great guitar that will definatley hold its own.

  • nice tone! Is this a hog top or spruce (stained to mahogany color)?

  • @lukephan2001 the Guitar is a D25M, M for mahogany.

  • I bought a Guild D25 M in 1977. The first (and only) time I didn't put it back in it's case my house caught fire.... all I found were the tuning keys. The case was charred on the outside, but the interior was perfect. Picks and sheet music were fine. ALWAYS put your guitar back in the case. I now own a Guild D17 M.

  • Oh...and the kitty is awsome too!

  • Just got my 72 D-25 back too! Like an old friend coming home since I have been playing my Martin instead for the past several years.

  • @gaoy4 i will give you£400

  • I have a 1979 D-25 with a spruce top. Sounds amazingly similar. Great guitars!
