Either you were eating too much fats (avocadoes, nuts, and seeds) or you weren't eating enough fruit to meet your daily caloric requirements.

Yea I agree, he might have had a raw diet, but it probably wasn't very balanced.

I've tried all sorts of diets and what works best for me is high raw vegetarian. Some eggs, some cooked vegetables, beans, potatoes, etc. I found this grounded my energy and left me feeling much more balanced than completely raw. Some of us need heartier foods, although I do think it's good to eat 100% raw for shorter periods of time when the body calls for it. I also juice fast often to clean and recharge my system. It works.

It's good to see people with some objectivity and a good head on their shoulders. I'm not saying which diet is best, but I do believe you should listen to your body and not brainwash yourself into something that isn't working for you. It seems like many raw vegans will never admit that some people are not cut out to be 100% raw and need a more versatile diet. It challenges their belief system. Listen to your body and take care of it and it will last you a long long time.

hey, yeah im convinced 90-95% of the time raw food 5% cooked's the way to go. some things just have to be cooked in order for us to digest them ya know. extremism is never the solution to anything in life. sorry to hear about your friend. im a swimmer and when i experience fatigue i drink goats milk, coconut water or eat peanut butter. try it. see if it helps. xxx good luck!

I am not 100 percent raw. I eat mostly raw...and I do eat raw egg yolks that are free range...I occasionally boil them. I have cold smoked sockeye salmon and I eat some cooked fish but not very well done..I don't believe that you have to be completely raw.

@NemeanLion I agree with you about listening to ones body although my cravings have often draw me towards things which were not always the healthiest choices. In spite of my inability to stay 100 percent raw my health is far better eating more raw foods.

@kdaveem Were you listening to your body, or your brain? Because your brain will steer you torwards food that give it pleasure and not what is necessarily healthy for your body over the long term. If your body is showing you a lessened performance or even illness, then it's your body that's speaking to you.

@NemeanLion That sounds reasonable. Measuring ones long term physical performance would seem like a good indicator although I wonder if long term performance is always going to be the healthiest diet in the long run. Anyway I mostly agree with you here.

Good video. I have been struggling with fatigue lately. I'm hoping to figure out why.

@KravJitsu1 Juicing seemed to help although I am also getting fatigued at times. When it gets to unbearable I allow myself to eat some non vegan foods for a day or Two and then go back to raw foods again as much as possible. Even though I'm not a 100 percent vegan raw fooder I'm still getting lots of benefits from all the greens and fruit I have been eating. I don't think it needs to be an all of nothing deal.
