You're absolutely correct. Aznavour is of Armenian decent. Brel was of Belgian decent, & Piaf was a native of France. But, all three artists mentioned, honed their skills in France, primarily recorded most of their material in French, and gained their popularity performing in the "chanson" style. My point was not to infer that Aznanvour was French, nor Brel for that matter. No matter their ethnic origin, their body of work, & contribution to music remains unmatched. :)
Mr Aznavour in Spanish is good, very good a god.

Well, I always thought that Aznavour came out of Armenia, not France. But I guess his expression kind of makes him French, at least in part.

The three best things to come out of France, will remain, forever and always, Aznavour, Brel, and Piaf.

You've got to learn,__ to leave the table__,
When love is no longer being served.
Just show them all that you are able
To leave without saying a word.
