nice bull. it was hard work but after all it pay/off. its true some hunter would of gave up already. i think that was good sportsman attitude. i would done the same thing too.

we keep all our shots under 40 yards to be sure it is a good kill. Anything further than that is reckless and taking chances.

hmm...maybe ya should be more worried about shot placement rather distance because taking 4 or more shots at the animal before it dies is not just reckless and taking chances but inhumane and unsportsmanlike.

actually the bull was shot at 10 yards but because animals dont always stand in the open with no trees or twigs to cover them, it makes it harder to shoot. The bull was shot at 10 yards but it hit a branch and it deflected toward a wrong part of the body. Most people would have given up and left the animal to die somewhere because there were no blood at all. We search and chase it down in thick timber all day even when it was not bugling, which is why it took 4 shots to finally drop it.
