Safety Merle - The Great Dane Cottager Rescuer

Our Great Dane 'Merle' saves our silly wives from falling in the lake in Ontario's vast and beautiful cottage country. We rescued Merle from Great Dane rescue three years ago and over time he has developed into this very protective and beautiful Dane.

He was not trained to do this - it is simply in his nature and he is very serious about keeping people away from the water. If anyone were to jump in, he would go crazy and in the interest of all of our fun we put him in the bunkie when we swim...

We didn't record his hamock rescue attempts but we all know how dangerous those bad boys can be.

NOTE: Merle ducks to go under the people needing saving and stands as tall as he can to throw them off balance enabling him to control their direction. We wouldn't allow anyone to put any weight on Merle - in case you were concerned...
