weird to say that the Vatican did..Didnt the divine name get eliminated in the new testatment ? Did Jesus even said that GOD THE FATHER was to be called Jehovah. Also we know that the Septuagint was a translation not necessarily the original. The Greeks were keeping with Jewish tradition of pronouncing the name which is hisotrically true even within themeselves.
