The RESOLIAN!!
Here's a really nice new resonator guitar model from Texas-based Republic Guitars..

Reso-relic finish, looks like a polished nickel model that has been hidden in an old tool shed for 70 years, LoL!!!!

Tuning: Open G (Just jammin' here folks..)
Slide used: "Robert Johnson" Bronze(not brass)model from Big Heart Slides, USA..

Just wanted to make a video showing the new Resolian resonator, I've had it for about an hour here and it's straight outta the box!! LoL!!

The neck profile is brand new for Republic and it actually feels like the neck on my old 1933 Duolian!!
The headstock specs also differs from the older Republic guitars specs..
I LIKE it a lot!!
Much fatter neck and slightly wider too..

The tone is amazingly rich for the body size, easily compared to it's bigger brothers..

Volume is great too, looking forward very much to get this one along for a gig(will happen tomorrow..)

  • Want one!

    This or a republic 61

    Which sounds best?

    Awesome playing!

    D tuning?

  • @407bug

They both sound great, I do feel there's a little more "honk" in the Hgw61.. Not sure hat that means, haha, but there's something in that tone that feels like a vintage National.. I use D, C, F, G, sometimes open E and A.

  • Does this "feel" like a nice guitar, or does it feel cheap? I know the price is WAY cheaper, but tone wise does a National really blow this away?

  • @toddallenhooper

Not cheap in any way, it's a good little guitar with a big, loud voice!

  • Man, you are a source of inspiration like a free-flowing river...THANK YOU for your music!

  • @toddallenhooper I own one and it does not feel cheap. I was surprised how much this lil guitar weighs.

  • What gauge strings do you use?

  • How's that slide play?

  • Thanks Bottleneck John. Savage picking, sounds quality! Could you recommend a few tunes that I could start off with? I'm playing open D at the moment on a stock guitar. I can jam for hours but don't know any songs. Thanks.
