While I feel bad for Jason Pominville, this hit to me was within the rules of the game. Pominville was the recipent of the puck, if Pominville was not hurt, this would not have been called for game misconduct. It was a "good, clean hit" accodring to NHL rules.

@theultimatesabresfan Even Lindy Ruff admitted this was a mistake and Vanek pointed out that the guy throwing the hit isn't a dirty player but that it was a big mistake on his part. Hjalmarsson was one of their best defenders last year playing a good, clean game; it's not like he thought "Well we have the Cup now, might as well be an asshole!" There's being a fan and there's being blinded by loyalty.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter if you intend to infringe on copyright laws... I dont think the NHL will be trolling around youtube trying to bust clips... and frankly a 4 word disclaimer wouldn't save anyone if they were... I'd not worry about it in the future...

@idriveaTJ How can you say that? These are the kind of hits that end carreers and seriously injure players. Pominville was not in possesion of the puck when he was hit, and he had his back almost completely turned to Hjalmarsson. This was not a clean hit, and in my opinion, deserves more than 2 games.

I agree with the suspension etc, and I am not a huge hawks fan but the fact is you are absolutely incorrect. It specifically says in the rules that intent is very important. If the player shows an intent to injure its a match penalty, where as if they simply injure the head it'd be a game misconduct. Game misconducts have no inherent suspensions (unless it
