Here is the Raw footage of the Times Square ball drop for 2009-2010 in New York City. Again no news crews, or television banners, other interruptions etc... However, this one is a bit different from the previous events though. You do not see the mayor and other people pressing down on the ball to activate the countdown, etc... You don't see people kissing and so forth. There is a lot of smoke which covers a bit of the view for about less than a min. Anyways, this is all I can get my hands on. Enjoy

  • @PahangDragonbird at least it didn't smoke up toshiba vision,the 2011 sign, or in people's faces. the smoke was mostly around the building, not in front of it or people's faces

  • @PahangDragonbird i agree with you. it's just so stupid how they use so little and boring fireworks during the 2009 countdown. it was the perfect time to use many cool and exciting fireworks since so many people were able to watch that year and it was an awesome year. yet next year, they smoke up the view of one times square and have people on the left side of one times square get smoke in their face when not as many people could watch it and 2010 was a tough year.

  • This was another year for Don Blanton hosting the Earthcam, and my first New Year's Eve in Times square. Millions of people bid farewell to 2009, and welcome in 2010 and a new decade.

  • December 31, 2009-January 1, 2010 Times Square ball drop marks the 9th year of playing Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" and the 5th year of playing John Lennon's "Imagine".

  • For the 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009, and 2009-2010 ball drops,

    "Imagine" by John Lennon was played in Times square before the clock struck midnight.

  • For the Thursday December 31, 2009 New Year's Eve leading into Friday, January 1, 2010, I went to the Marriott Marquis Hotel, to see the Times Square view. It was my first New Years Eve in NYC. I counted down correctly every hour, including the ball drop, counting "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1." When the clock striked midnight, I shouted, "Happy New Year 2010!" After midnight, I watched the Times square view from 12:20 am to 1:30 am.
