these schools are a joke, majority of ppl who make it to the field are cocky know it alls who don't really know much of anything... Iowa Lakes is prolly the best school out there, but their program has gone down hill in recent years

@mrmott44 how much do you really know? community college is the way to go if you are looking to get in the industry? explain to me why there are 20 nationally recongized companies coming to this school to hire technicians? when we graduate from this college we arent "electricians". we are technicians that are hired to troubleshoot wind turbines. so your 5 year vision is false. considering i know 20 kids that have already committed to companies before they even graduate. explain that to me

Actually the IBEW has over 20,000 electricians trained and working on wind now. The "community college" approach is a ploy to get your (and the governments) money. Good luck finding a job without finishing a full 5 year apprenticeship.

@azst52 There are approx. 800 wind technicians in the usa. We need at least 800 more... now. Great job, GREAT pay, two year degree is all thats required
