@RoBeRt4686 you obviously haven't watched past the first episode, which is the actually the only episdoe filled with blood and gore, with a few exceptions here and there. Elfen Lied is actually an excellent anime that every fan should watch. Definitely not a gore anime IMO.

@RoBeRt4686 Even though it is quite violent, Elfen Lied has a deeper meaning than blood and gore. It's one of the best animes I've watched, and it made me cry several times. (:
