On the serious side, the pentagrams are point up and down. There are slight angles between the 2 along their wall. A black ring at Joseph's jump window, On the less serious side, This is an introduction to polygamy, Pentagrams and truth pellets, Flying angels and dirt naps. I cudgle the Carthage issue. No, not cuddle.

  • You're a frigging nut case.

  • @Dogheadj And you would be, what? a Mormon? Or do you know the meaning of all those pentagrams and other occult objects?

  • Just to add a bit more, I really am failing to see what point you are trying to make so if you could please clerify

  • @jedswood303 Look at the position of the Pentagrams. They are at different heights. The black ring. The points up and down. This is not sloppy contracting work. It is intentional. It has meaning to the Mormons who put them there. Past art seems to indicate some windows were changed sometime in the past. But that may just art error. I've seen error in art of Kirtland temple. Also, that spot of blood on the floor the Mormons used to say was Joes couldn't be his, not from the story. Had to be Hyrum

  • Can you at least explain your position. Are you saying that you believe the stars have some meaning? Do you believe they were placed there by the mormons or masons? You are aware that the carthage jail was not built by mormons? I live very close to the jail and you should know that the stars are structural. Any brick or stone building in this area built more than a hundred years ago has these stars on the exterior, they are bolted to long rods that go through the building to hold it together.

  • @jedswood303 Did you know the main jail was down below? Joe, etc was brought up to the 2nd floor that day, on the pretense of a little fresh are on a hot sultry day. It was a set up from beginning to end. Ford knew better, too. Not nice. Did you know J.S. sent a message to his Gen Dunham saying "get me the hell out here now"! But it was ignored and he suffered no consequence's. Odd. Any how, Everything done with those stars is done with a purpose. Pointy side up or down, position on wall, etc.

  • @IExposeMormonism It was Hyrums'. Living a couple hours away from nauvoo/Carthage, I've been there a number of times since my childhood (I'm now 56). I've never heard it represented to be anything other than Hyrums' blood.

  • @Dogheadj These star shaped plates were the anchors of the tie-rod system and helped to prevent lateral bowing. In fact, they're very common in older structures in the region in which I live (Illinois).

There are a lot of misconceptions out there about the Mormon faith, but let's not go crazy. You can find something sinister everywhere if you look if you want to.

Believe me, there is nothing to your "Pentagram" fantasy. If there were,as an ex-Mormon, I would tell you.

  • @IExposeMormonism As a matter of fact, both. I was excommunicated from the church in 1985 at my own request, for my own reasons. However, when I see the faith wrongfully maligned, I feel an obligation to enlighten people.

Those "pentagrams" are commonly, but wrongly, known as "barnstars". You can google that if you want to know more about the history. But ultimately, these star shaped plates were "washers" in part of a tie-rod system to hold brick and masonry structures together (cont.)

  • I certainly understand what a pentagram is. I did not say it was sloppy work, it was standard work on all buildings of the period. It is clear that smith and many in the mob were masons. I just dont see what you think is wrong with that. If you have some supporting evidence that the stars mean something then please present it, if not then you really have no argument and you should be honest about that. So are you just anti mormon or are you also anti masonic?

  • @jedswood303 You must not be Mormon. The stars are Pentagrams. They are placed there with intention. It's not just some sloppy work. Yes, they have meaning, no I don;t know what they mean to the Mormons that placed them there. They were not there in 1842. Carthage jail was a Missouri jail in 1842 and you can be certain Freemasons controlled every aspect of legal life. Be it the jailer, deputy, sheriff, the military, governor, etc All were Freemasons. And so was everyone in jail that day.
