A large percentage of Black and Latino males are not doing well academically. This Telly Award winning documentary focuses on a unique program designed to reverse and prevent underachievement among culturally diverse males. The Scholar Identity Institute was created by Gil Whiting and Donna Ford, two Vanderbilt professors who believe you've got to get involved to make a difference.
To develop stronger students, Whiting and Ford use lectures, workshops and role-playing to spotlight the attitudes and behaviors minority students need in order to excel.
