Dark!Merlin - Ultimate Power

What's the use of having powers if it can't save the ones you love?

The overwhelming responsibility bestowed upon Merlin, along with the burden of guilt for the deaths of his friends, pushes him over the edge. Merlin's gentle soul has shattered, the full extent of his powers now reins uninhibited, and it consumes him. The once prophesied Emrys now lives, but it's too early; too wrong.

An alternate scenario for the Merlin storyline.

This is my first attempt at a Merlin video. I chose to focus on a Dark!Merlin to show that he can be quite formidable, scary even, despite his veil of innocence. Camelot has no idea how lucky they are to have Merlin on their side.

Sorry, but I have to gush a bit more. I mean, the way you've so simply but powerfully and wonderfully conveyed the story or dark!Merlin unfolding, like the beginning where all the pressure and death he's experienced and the temptation of magic become too much, to the process of Merlin spiraling further and further into darkness as he's consumed by power and eventually destroys Camelot (that's how I interpret the flames at the end, dunno if I'm correct) is simply amazing. Wonderful job, really.

@TheOppositeSame Gaww, I'm so flattered right now! :) Yes, to all of what you said; that's what I was hoping to achieve. I'm glad that the narrative is apparent because when you're the one making the video you're never too sure if others will view it the same way. ^^

In the show, there's so much responsibility laying on Merlin, and many times he's had to grieve alone for the deaths of his friends. I'd heard that season 4 will be darker than previous ones; perhaps they'll touch on this a bit.
