Conditions were most likely supposed to get icy quickly and the salt truck was attempting to get salt on both lanes as quickly as possible to avoid a real mess. Some times things are not what they seem.

I own a snow removal company and have driven state trucks for years when i was younger.

I used to drive in bad weather...till a friend of mine rolled a truck in the snow ..he got $500 fine, points, and his company left him out on a island , telling him that he didnt have to be driving in unsafe conditions...If your a owner operator its a different story...but for a company..as soon as the salt and pepper shakers come out I park it..

@nek0s All the salt/plow trucks have spinners to spread the salt,for low speed situations,but at normal traling speed the salt will spread across most of a two lane road without having to be on the wrong side of center,as the chute is on the driver side of the truck.
