Decided to do a transmitter range test on my Redcat Rampage.
I have a DX2 converted to DX3 Transmitter and SR3001 receiver
with Spektrum telemetry system installed. The results were
210ft with the telemetry connected and 300ft with it off.
Don't know if this is an average distance or if should be
longer?

SETUP:

  • man im a noob in this hobby. what are the two blue "flasks" infront the airfilter? and what do the bands on the shock-towers helps to?

  • @josex360x The blue metal tubes are boost bottles. They are suppose to help get the fuel from the carb to the engine faster during takeoff but they are not worth the money. That's why I removed them.

The straps attached to the wheels are wheel travel limiting straps. They stop the arms from dropping too far during jumps and putting too much pressure on the shock shaft.

  • very cool video

  • I'm new at this so I have a question: How do you make a custom exaust? Welding, yes, I know that part but what else do I need to know? nice vids :)

  • 1200ft is 4 football fields. You measured that distance on a surface radio? I couldn't even see my truck well at 220ft.

  • thats still not much FM's range is like 1200ft

  • In the video you only see the range I got with the telemetry connected. I got about 80ft further when I disconnected the telemetry system.

  • i am not sure but i have had mine well over that with a FM raido
