  • dont move them back and forth when reviving. The fish will recover faster if you just hold him in the water. Head first into the current if there is one. They can't breath at all when they are moving backwards. Gill plate must stay closed

    nice brown

  • True enough, but what to do when you are releasing a fish into still water? I have since experamented with putting the boat in gear and moving forward slowly. This only works well if there is a second person in the boat, of coarse. Otherwise, it is still important to get that water flowing through the gills to revive a tired fish. Just holding it still can be a losing prospect...

  • LOOK HOW SKINNY IT IS.

  • Ya, he was a skinny old grandpa of a brown. Most 32 inch browns would be well over 10 lbs. Still an awesome specimen. I love that they are all so different - color, shape, spots, jaws...

  • can u keep em?

  • @catstevens666

No - gill plate doesnt have to stay closed..

    quite the opposite infact.

  • Beautiful fish. It's great that you practice catch and release, especially with such a pretty looking specimen. Keep it up!

  • Dude, thats a weird looking dolphin.

  • nice tuna

  • when you release a fish you never drag him backwards

  • y u play with da fish ya mothafucka !

  • The best way to revive the fish in stillwater i have found is to move it back and forth but, the back motion is very slow. That way the fish is still able to breath while moving back wards. Never had a problem with it.

  • Hardly a bad ass, but I do love persuing big trout. These big old fish are definatly not the best to eat. They get a little strong tasting. The 3-4 lb trout are the best size to eat if you ask me...
