Actually pretty tacky for a teacher to play in their students' recital. The teacher should have had another student participate and the solo consisted of really lame patterns with no rhythmic variety. But not everyone understands jazz these days. And yes I am a jazz pianist and a teacher.

The bass part is likely based (excuse the pun) on Keith Jarrett's version on the Whisper Not album, for which a transcription is available on-line if you search. Very good regardless.

i do know it has got completely to do with words..thats why i said it..cause he didnt beat you did he? therefore "you got your ass kicked" doesnt quite fit..so i added "verbally"
