Flood on the Nechacko River near Cheslatta Falls, British Columbia, Canada. Filmed July 26th, 2007.
Normally this spot on the river is much calmer, but no longer! Heavy snowfall last winter led to an excess of water that already caused severe floods throughout much of Northern BC earlier in the year. This particular flood was created as the result of water rushing out from a dam downstream. Engineers determined that there was simply too much force on the dam and the dam was starting to crack, so they decided to release the water behind it. The river has been like this for at least six weeks.
My little camera that wasn't meant for taking videos doesn't do justice to the deafening sound and sheer power of the river, but at least it gives an impression nonetheless...
wow and we thought it was bad in US wow... hope all is well for yall there...

I was here just before the spillway was opened, it was pretty cool then, could walk under the bridge, at the falls we could get right up to the falls in the mist. After they opened that spill way it was FREEKIN SWEET (took the long way around past kenny dam) and walked down to the falls, INSANE -- i'll have to find my vids of the 'before' so you have something to compare to.

ridiculous circular rhetoric. there's no point teaching you fucking neanderthals on wheels how to 'manage' a forest - you don't have one anymore. your cult of management has been deforesting for 6000 yrs (the middle east was heavily forested)and you've never grown a forest to even a few hundred yrs and now you're here and armed with more powerful equipment and stupider arguments. i'm not grateful enough for any of these commodities you've mentioned. from me and the animals: "thanks for nothing"

so where do you purpose we live? need trees for lumber to build the house you live in and paper for the the flyers you hand out telling us to save the forest. tell you what you live in well nothing and stop reading books and then come back here and preach to us on how to managa a forest.
