  • Hi, you asked for suggestion about how to solve this 911 call problem. I believe that police station normally receives 911 calls and once they get 911 call, they get location of the 911 phone call and when they could not know why 911 call was placed, they normally would send police officer out first and if paramedic is needed, the police officer will summon one for you. I dialed 911 from a payphone once and the police came within 4 minutes. I did not need to tell them where I was calling from.

  • Hello,

You can use IP Relay in your sidekick or blackberry and the important part first is to provide address (location etc) and cell phone number before you state the reason for emergency. So, that way your cell phone (sidekick or blackberry) can be easily located through the law enforcement system. More deaf people are not using TTY/TDD. The FCC doesnt say anything about banning on calling 911 through relay service (including VRS). Next time try this way and share your experience.
