  • Oh Dude..That sounded REALLY nice, I am a US citizen in China and I left my own 25th anniversary flame maple seagull at home, i searched seagull 25th anniversary hoping to relive the tone and I found your vids...Thanks. Haha. I bought it for the same price as you and my buddy got one as well, my brother is borrowing when I am away and he loves it too!! The customer rep dude said it was solid maple and then later i found out it was a laminate, he said it was ok though because they age well...

  • Yes it is laminated but not "laminated" as in cheap composite wood sandwiched between more cheap wood with a photosticker for "grain". It is more like this: All maple sandwiched between some more all maple. They laminated this one for structural stability since its cutaway. Check the Seagull website for more info.

I just posted a new video showing a direct comparison with a real laminated beater. Check it out.

  • its a laminate maple, not " all " maple. the mahogany isnt quite as tinny as the maple.

  • You're right. It sure is thinnier than all mahogany.I might poste a video of it when it plugged in.

  • Amazing guitar! How much was yours? I've seen them for 500$

  • Thank you. Mine was 599 with a nice branded gigbag.

  • I just traded in my Martin acoustic electric for this guitar because the tone, and quality of the workmanship just blew me away... such a beautiful guitar.

  • @Amulius I'm saying when I compared my seagull, a 600$ guitar to some of the guitars which well over 1,000$, I still preferred mine.

  • One thing about these guitars is sometimes it's a bit inconsistent, which can be a good thing.. In my case, it was. I've played 200$ Guitars, 50$ Guitars, 4,000$ guitars, 1,000$ Guitars.... I have to say...I preferred mine. Ultimately, they are ALL great guitars... But when I compared mine with the same model guitar, in fact, 4 different ones, mine was always a bit better. I could always tell the difference in the way it played. Love these guitars though, they are amazing.

  • Best quality/price on the market, I love mine it's awsome!!!!!!! Plus it's made here at Home in Québec Canada, hand made.

3 layers of maple is the laminated back and sides, solide spruce the top!!!

  • I have one, nice guitar

  • i ended buying the maple exactly like yours. lowered the action and put a set of elixer poly lights on it..I couldnt be happier. IMO seagull is the best guitar for the money out there.

  • Nice.
