From the finale of Series 1, "Missing You Already". Peter has been told he has been transferred back to a parish in Manchester, but Assumpta has other ideas. (Did she sign it?)
Watch her walk over fron her pub. She's beautiful. If Peter was not in love before, (and we all know that he was) how could he not be in love after this scene?
I think Peter's strong emotion relates back to when they released the ram. Assumpta asked where he wanted to be and he said, "Where I'm wanted." To feel unwanted is devastating. The petition restores his sense of worth. Assumpta doesn't want to be seen as his main reason for staying because that could hurt him later. Genius stroke of staging that they're sitting on Kathleen's steps during this scene.
In a later episode Brendan tells Peter "It's all in the eyes with women." Assumpta's eyes say, "Of course, I want you to stay! I organized the petition and sent it to Fr. Mac and the Bishop!" But she can't say it verbally because she doesn't want to be seen as the only reason he's staying, which could turn out scandalous. Stroke of subtle staging genius that they're sitting on Kathleen's steps during this scene.
Of course she did!! She started the petition and stated her intention to see that it was sent to the bishop. Why would she not have signed it?? Besides, she started the conversation by saying "I'll miss you if you decide to go." I think that's pretty clear.
I love Peter's tearful reaction at the petition. It's very honest and moving. Also Assumpta's obvious (and I think impressed) surprise at how deeply he's touched by it.
She totally signed it. That's why he stopped at page three. No need to look at the last pages.
Was Peter just looking for affirmation of Assumpta's feelings when he asked "What about you?" After all, she opened the conversation with "I'll miss you." (BTW, don't you just love Peter's huge feet here...)

The theme of Ballykissangel always puts me in a good mood. I like humming it.

I think she did. That is what I assumed when she said, "I'm on the roll".

Did Assumpta sign the petition herself? I've always wondered if she did.
