An afternoon around the River mouth fishing ,and an evening In Port Saunders whale watching in my backyard, literaly..spent more time on these rocks as a kid then home. The balanced rock on the cliffs is pretty neat,it's a wonder we never broke our necks on it as kids.Enjoy the view of kepple Island lighthouse, first cove and Point Riche from the Crow head walking trail 500 yards from where I grew up.

  • very cool. I think it would be amazing to see how much one place would change over the years.

  • actually was thinking the same thing yesterday as i filmed the arches, a large cave formation down the coast a bit ,as i noticed how much of it has fallen and washed away even in the 30 years i remember...ill post a vid one day when i save up some footage

  • That sea is so calm it could be a lake, the balancing rock is cool, did a storm put it there or was it natural erosion ?

  • erosion...its about 30 feet off the ground there and a lot bigger than it looks...the rocks below are chock full of fossils..we used to pick the rock apart as kids(it flakes right off) and pick out the snail shaped fossils..it's a geological wonder,a few large areas of the coast are protected because of the unique plants that grow in the limestone and geology ...theres a place 100 km south the earths mantel flipped over actually, ill film it some day, cool place here if your into that stuff.

  • we have spotted a fue whales down here on the southren shore. pretty early in the year to spot them

  • drove along the coast just before i went fishing saturday , saw the odd one here and there all along Right from Daniels Harbour to here, guess the bait is moving inshore already..perfect, with the bait comes the bigger fishies and my rods are ready :-)
