using normal soil or potting mix - the result will be too wet - with this sort of system you would need a very open coarse medium try using perlite or rockwool

if you see my page,but the city waters full of chlorine which after time creates salt
buildups in the plant..i learned alot thank you..was that a bandage on the bottom?

yeah thats hella cool man,i dont think tap water hurts plants though i know its full of
crap but shouldnt hurt nothing..?
