how do you live view it in yourr editor in camera mode?

when i connect canon hg20 to my thru power director the QUALITY GOES DOWN AND NO LONGER THE ORIGINAL CLARITY. I TRIED TO CONNECT TO SOURCE AVCHD BUT DOES NOT WORK USING USB, AVI CORD. THANKS.

Hey, i own this camera. it makes gorgeous videos, but, if your going edit the video in a normal editor be warned. The AVCHD file format is nothing but a headache in raw form. I suggest buying elecard converter studio, to convert those high quality AVCHD file into high quality mpeg2 clips to use conventionally. Thats about the only draw back i have for the camera technically. The built in mic is surprisingly adept at capturing clean sound.
