ah fuck I got the 1200rms hifonics brutus for the same i've heard thats slightly underpowering them since the subs are under rated? wish I knew exactly how much they can take
-
ay bro get some 6x5's and 6x9's ur bass is drowning the shit outta ur speakers
-
@Jcizzle210 the reason why mine i think sounds louder and better is because im only doin what my car can handle which around 35 to 40 amps left over for me to play with, my amp hadles 880 rms total and im only using 440 rms which is not true because is a/b class amp and those are about 70 % efficient so the real rms is 392 and if i divide that by 14 volts which is when my car is running, im only pulling about 28 amps from my alternator so it's perfect, i never listen to my music with the car off
-
220 rms for the subs so their getting around 110 rms each and it still pounds
-
@Jcizzie210 you should just upgrade your alternator and your battery to a yellow top and runs those RE 12's down to 1 ohm load and that should be able to satisfy you, im telling because hifonics amps are underrated and plus this amp you have cea certified and it pushes way more than what is rated. think about it that car uses like 70 amp alternator and it uses 50 to 60 % to run your car electrical so your left with 30 amps and you need at least a 200 amp alternator to able to push this amp t max
-
@Jcizzle210 well on mine the mirror doesn't even stay up and that's with the rear sets closed when the seats are down it's crazier lol it's in a honda civic all stock battery and alternator my alternator produces 75 amps, the only thing i've done to it is the big 3 running 4 gauge wiring through the whole car. by the way i just purchased the same amp you have can wait to try it out but before i install it im looking to upgrade my stock alternator to a HO one to be sure everything runs to it's max
-
@Jcizzle210 you don't have to upgrade to another amp dude i have an old 4 channel hifonics rated 880rms total 110 x 4 at 4 ohms, 220 x 4 at 2 ohms and 440 x 2 bridged. i have it doin dual roles 2 channels for mids and highs together meaning im using two channels, and one channel for bass at 2 ohm load so is 440 total rms im using powering 2 12 inch kfc kenwoods in a sealed 1.25 per chamber and it bumps way louder than yours, like you say it shakes the rearview mirror a little on yours
how long did you break them in for im gettin only one so i just dont wanna blow it the first time you know?

@MrGraffitikidd the first 2 weeks i listened to them a lot but not to the max or near it. and after that i gradually bumped up the volume level. After about probably 3 or 4 weeks or so i felt comfortable playing them near the max or so. Just depends how often you listen to them.

sounds like they r doing pretty good i think they can use a little more power RE is underrated for power.

@REXXXD2 Thanks man. And yep, i know exactly what you mean. This amp makes my subs pound hard and loud, but the subs still arent moving near as much as they can. ill be upgrading to a more powerful amp when i can. I'm excited to see what they can really do.
