You said this was from 2003? I do believe you now have a full-power station on analog channel 51, licensed to Pittsfield, MA these days.

i know wat ur talkin bout, i grew up with this voice. this is the only thing i didn't like about this channel. my cousin works there.

why does the announcer guy sound so scary? if i was a kid, i would get the creeps whenever this guy came on.

2 stations where I live sign off Monday 2-5 am

My CBS affiliate would shut it's transmitter down, but on cable, it's a direct feed from their control room so it shows the color bars all night.

The short time that WNYT is "signed-off" isn't a true sign-off ... I think they let the transmitter continue to cook, as it would be more wear and tear shutting it down and bringing it back up.
