Meinl Tri-Tone Ibo / Udu Demo

This is a really fun instrument, especially if you live in an apartment and want to play some percussion that won't make your neighbors angry. I put ~1.5 bottlesworth of water in my udu so that when I shift its angle, it plays different pitches.

Sorry the tempo is all over the place, but for this instance I'm not worried about it. From the videos I've seen (not very many), I haven't seen anyone who plays their udu in a cradled position. The primary purpose of the video is to show people the diversity of the instrument.

@17drums You should, Dave! It's a whole lot of fun. I use it at my church all the time. People really like it, especially on slower songs.

Hey Man good video, i have the same IBO drum, i love it.

However i also bought Meinl's Liquid IBO drum so i wouldn't have to put water in any other of my IBO drums.

You should buy it, the water and metal base gives it a cool sound.

hey marshall! did I influence you to get an udu? I modified mine win the son from a pair of bongos and it really makes for some great beats and interesting tones playing with folks. haha
