The most beautiful and nostalgic story made in China. You can also see all attractiveness of Zhang Ziyi.

  • A story about very simple love... My parents were from the "quiet generation" where their courtship was similar to this story. I like to think that this was my parents story :)

  • Growing up, I was close friends with a chinese family, their daughter was someone I went to school with.

I would sleepover every other Saturday Night, and they had a huge collection of chinese films. Thats where I saw this film the first time.

The music is something that reminds me of my "second family". it fills me with nostalgia.

  • @The021773 XD did u ask the same question with the wizard of oz? the movie's focus is on the past also to the older Ziyi her memory of how she met her husband must have been as clear as it was yesterday. In addition, the grey tone you saw at the beginning can symbolize the state of the village or emotion of Ziyi knowing that she is a widow now. thats my 2 cent on this anyways. I'm sure there are many ways to interpret the colour changes.

  • is this movie made before crouching tiger that made zhang ziyi famous?

  • why black and white and then colored comes in.whats the point?

  • C'est un bon film! Et Zang Ziyi est aussi une bonne actrice!. J'aime bien ce film.

  • @kodakgirl I like this "quiet generation" more hehe

  • @hellowjp thank u :)

  • @sarragold Those pants were stuffed with a thick layer of cotton, which could provide more warmth, they were baggy so that people could wear more layers inside to keep warmth, also the society was more conservative back then, so women simply did not wear fitted clothes like nowadays.

  • i have a question why were the women wearing those kind of pants????????:)

  • 我 爱 这个 电影
