Such a good song, i got every lyric in it tattooed on my arm. Sadly not "New Day Rising" 50 times. only once.

I was telling people I was getting song lyrics as a tattoo, and some people were like "Why don't you get something that will mean more, something that you'll still like in 20 years"

And I'm sorry, some bands come and go, but Husker Du, with two albums in my top 5 of all time, is gonna stick around for life.

So my internal reaction was "fuck off," externally, I said "whatever"

You guessed it. They don't really have a bad album but those two are pretty much classic.

Somewhere in my top ten is "Tim" by The Replacements Beyond that I don't know what would fill out the rest. I'm horrible with listening to new(as in, new to me) music, even though my horizons - indie - alternative - punk - whatever are expended more than most, I still gotta keep at it.

I see what you're saying though. We did the same shit in the late 80s when people were insisting that some BS band from the mid to late 70s was the best band ever. That said, Husker Du has never been a top 5 favorite band of mine but they've always been the go-to band that I listened to when I was tired of everything else (if that makes any sense.) I'm back to going through their catalog, trying to find stuff that I don't remember.
