This MacBook Pro A1150 started showing artifacts on the screen and freezing after a few years of life. I guessed the flaw was somewhere in the hardware between the GPU and the VRAM.
The main difference with most of the "resolder in the oven" stories out there is that I didn't preheat the oven. I masked the logic board with aluminium foil (exposing the GPU package only) and put it under the resistance, with the oven door open all the time. The total time is about 15 minutes, including a few minutes break while my "piece of solder thermometer" fell down and I had to recover it.

I'm using the Mac right now and it looks fully working!
