@68deluxe Seriously? Wow, I never knew that. Any idea why that might be?

@ersellwaite It's a way of rejecting the excesses of western life, parents, husbands etc These people always want their partners and children to have more, more, more - The anorexic will see this as superficial as her feelings run so deep.Anorexia is a very, very deep anger - that's why it goes so far beyond what is loved and accepted..although the anorexic is always aware that, in part, people are in awe and amazed by her..

@0sexiest0nerd0 You know autism and anorexia go hand in hand?!
-
@SuperSososexy It's a mental illness. You can't just get a grip, you obviously do not understand it at all. People with depression can't just get a grip, neither can those with ED's. Don't be a ignorant twat.

Luckily for me, my brother is autistic and hates to go anywhere spontaneously, so most of the time I know beforehand which restaurant we're going to, and then I Google the nutritional information... obsessively...

@thisgrey I think it could be because in developing worlds being thin is not seen as a good thing and so people do not strive to be thin. In the first world being thin is seen as a sign of being in control, having your life in order, being attractive etc. and so people who are unhappy with themselves try to be thin to improve their lives. With anorexia or bullimia this gets out of control because of deeper issues within the person and not because they are vain or stupid or selfish.

@thisisgrey That's a good question. I have no idea :/
-
@kaykid2 maybe I am, but bear with me for a second, try to find an anorexic in the developing world or working in a sweat shop. I'm just saying that this seems to be mostly a disease of the first world, why?
