  • For those comments who say 32 seconds is not very fast, not it's not in a 50m race. But 32 second 50s continuously over 3.8km is VERY impressive.

  • Would he be faster if he held his head lower? He looks so heavy on the back end, it seems it would help with buoyancy. He IS fast though.

  • The commentator said his Ironman split was 1.05 per 100m, which is already incredible since I only have the split time 1.30 per 100 on my Ironman swim, although I have only been swimming for 2 years ))

  • I don't mean to be cynical but I don't think his stroke is that incredible. His head is much too far up, dropping his hips, which in turn hinders body roll. This may be aided by the wet-suit but his stroke would benefit alot from better head positioning. Not only that but he would get more propulsion out of his already strong kick.

  • @pinwbafous Alot of high level swimmers don't use the s curve bc it is not very fast. You want to try to use your body rotation to allow you to pull the water back in a straight line. This way you only catch the water once. The best way to visualize that is trying to pull one column of water the whole way through your stroke.

  • Scott! perfect body position mate!!!! this is beautiful to watch. Head is still, perfect when taking a breath too, only 1 of you goggle out of the water (perfect!) very symmetric stroke, elbows are perfect too.

@stevenydc, he is just demonstrating how to sight ahead during open water swimming. However with this stroke, ha! he might sight every 100 meters... maybe. he can swim in a straight line without looking or having a line at the bottom.

  • i dont get why he breath in that way... for example at 2:09-2:12

  • @Solidus1Syndicate Assuming that there will be 3.750 more meters, I guess 32 secs is pretty nice.

  • how is 32 secs good on a 50?

  • 02:25 to 02:45 notice how he gives 4 kicks and at the end he gives one last kick but off time..

  • こんな泳ぎが出来たいいなぁ!ヘッドアップしても全然ぶれていないのだから素晴らしい!!
