Sa Dingding - Pomegranate Woman

Sa Dingding performing at Union Chapel 27th May 2010. She told us a very funny story about the origins of this song. In Yunnan province in China, there are 26 ethnic minority groups, and when she visited one group of people, she realised that without the hard-working women of the community, everything would "just stop!" The women look after the young, the old, and especially take good care of their husbands. "When the man gets drunk, she'll put him on her back!" :D Dingding likens these women to pomegranates because they have rough skin due to all the hard work they do, but she thinks that they are soft and beautiful on the inside. c:

According to the booklet with the album, the "Hu Lu Sheng" instrument is played in this song. I'm not sure if it's the same instrument, but I hope this information helps! c:
