"I always wanted to be a firefighter," says Sean Labobe of Lennox Island First Nation.
"It's a great thing to do for your community -- you're out saving people's lives, people look up to you and you're being a great role model for your kids. I had the opportunity to go to the
Nova Scotia Firefighters School, but I needed some help.
I went to Connections Career Centre and they were able to help get my tuition and living expenses funded so I could concentrate on learning how to become a firefighter.
Once I got the funding, everything started rolling for me. You go home every day feeling good about yourself. I'm really grateful to Connections Career Centre for helping me follow my dream."
