  • As a canadian I speak personally for myself here. I don't know why you would wanna drop the royals, we have a good system going here. Why would you want to throw out years and years of history? If we didn't have the Queen as our head of state we might end up like the americans with Bush (no offence). But that's just what I think.

  • that's what referendums and constitutional amendments, or even replacing the old one, if it even exists, with a new one, are for.

yeah I know, it sounds french or soviet, but in the former, it's worked quite well when the government needed changing.

  • I truly do fear that the monarchy will indeed be in great peril when Her Majesty passes away or gives the crown to Charles. Charles couldn't even conduct his life with honour, grace or good will, so he will make a miserable King! After all, a leopard does not change it's spots. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN, MAY SHE REIGN LONG AND KEEP HEALTHY. We need you Lilibet!

  • I wouldn't be against them at all--if they were any good.....But...

  • @123theJapan And long live Emperor Akhito of Japan.

  • @KeybladePrincess61 yo... as an american... non taken.

  • We had a constitutional monarchy in France until 1877. It was the great King Louis-Napoleon who built the modern Paris we know today. after the socialists abolished the constitutional monarchy with a republic, everything turned into a dipshit of 3rd world, unfrench, unclassy people with no sense of identity than being workers in a socialist regime. we couldnt even defend ourselves during the wars because our head of state is not someone who can unite us all in one banner.

  • the type of government doesnt matter. it is the people in government which matters.

you have may a republic but governed by corrupt politicians so what is the use of a republic when the same people from the same political class and the same cronies and lobbyists are still present? any change of government is expensive but why would trash something that has worked well for a thousand years. its quite useless actually especially when you have a head of state in a republic who cant represent all.

  • @KeybladePrincess61 i totally agree with you!

  • Long Live Queen Elizabeth II - from Japan. :)
