The world of Video Games is currently a billion dollar industry, which profits off fans both young and old. Since its creation, a subculture has formed which looks to make playing Video Games a career rather than a hobby. Their goal is to turn "Gaming" into a legitimate sport, where money can be made through competitions, endorsements, and sponsorships. One of the largest communities within this subculture is the "Fighting Game" community.
In order to make a name for one's self in the "Fighting Game" community; players must start in small arcades and work their way through both local and sponsored tournaments. The largest event is this community is known as the Evolution Tournament, or "EVO".
This is Justin Wong's story as he attempts to work his way through the "Fighting Game" scene with the release of "Street Fight IV". Justin's goal is to make playing Video Games competitively his full time career.

The funniest scene is when Daigo got on the bus after wondering why Daigo was in the tourny.. Justin said to Triforce "Why do all black people sit in the back?" before coming to sit down at the back of the bus. Then when Daigo sat up front i thought.. Such cruel irony lmao!!!.

I noticed a lot of scenes in this trailer that were cut from the release version. Also, considering that this trailer was uploaded in 2009, I'm wondering how the narrative of the story changed post-Justin going to EG. Obviously the story that seems to pervade the trailer isn't the same one that is in the finished product, and I'm wondering how the developments in real life affected the story being told in this movie.

@Alfrebaut You are correct, alot had changed over the course of that year. We were in the middle of closing it out and Justin left for EG. At that point we made the decision to keep filming and go for what we thought could lead to a more promising ending. I believe it paid off.
That's the hardest part of the art of doc film making. You don't know what the people are going to do so you develop a story on what you think is happening, and you need to be prepared at any point to switch it up.

I was studying for the bar exam when I first saw this video; I just stumbled upon it while doing homework. I'm a lawyer, now, and this movie STILL hasn't come out. Hopefully it comes out before I become a Supreme Court Justice.

@elgilicious Haha. Awesome. Glad to see we've held your interest for at least a year...The truth is, we're just looking for a place to premiere it at the moment. We want to give the people who want to see the film an opportunity to do so before we start sending it out to festivals and taking it to events where it might be harder to see it.
