I like the idea that the BoM was written by the upper class. Is there evidence of class structure in the BoM itself?
The phrase "it came to pass" is in the 1830 BoM about 1397 times. I believe they removed about 100 of these in making the 1837 version of the BoM. This phrase is found about 450 times in the KJV Bible.
Corrosion wouldn't mask ancient metallurgy. We should find evidence of mining, smelting, casting, tools, etc. This is what we find for other civilizations.
