light missile caracal is an excellent anti frig hull ship. there are alot of them flying about in fw. nice vid, i have done a few for the amarr myself

Yes, more DPS...on a BC or a well-tackled Cruiser. On a frig or a cruiser with minimal tackle on it, HM will do more. And on a frig, Assault launchers will do more (which is what was used - not standard missile launchers).
And HAMs are EXTREMELY hard to fit on a caracal with any kind of decent setup. It doesn't have the fitting.
As is, that has 5 AML2s, 2x BCU2 & over 9000 shield hp with good resists.
It's a hard setup to beat. Fury lights on there just tears most cruisers apart.
