The power of this song! Are those missles that eject from the wing of the plane 'laser guided missles'? If they are... They are the coolest muthafuckin thing I have ever seen! Wow! BUT! The visions of the worlds deadliest weapons against the backdrop of such a haunting song is truly moving. The savegery of my fellow men and women is truly a challenge of survival at its lowest level I will meet! We are all fucked!

i love this band! i'm 17 and i have come to draw some conclusions about this song
1. the machine is society
2. the people are the "cogs", if you will, of this machine
3. its pointing out that we are all tools to society and, not directly, saying that we should not benefit this machine but ourselves.

It could be the music industry, society, human life it self... that's what I love about pink floyd songs, from any point of view they make sense
